Banyana Banyana coach Desiree Ellis has named a strong lineup as South Africa step onto the pitch to begin their Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title defense against Ghana’s Black Queens tonight in Morocco.
Despite the absence of star striker Thembi Kgatlana, Ellis fielded a formidable side with goalkeeper Andile “Stix” Dlamini making a notable return to the starting XI.
Dlamini, who was surprisingly sidelined by coach Ellis in favour of Kaylin Swart, now reclaims her place between the posts, bringing experience and composure to the backline.
In front of her, the defense is anchored by Lebohang Ramalepe, Fikile Magama, Bambanani Mbane, and Tiisetso Makhubela—each ready to absorb Ghana’s attacking pressure.
