Kaizer Chiefs striker Tashreeq Morris is reportedly on his way to Durban City as the Soweto giants continue to reshape their squad ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The move will see the 32-year-old forward reunite with former AmaKhosi assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef, who was recently appointed to lead the KwaZulu-Natal club.

Morris’s time at Chiefs has been marked by frustration over the past year. After a surprise transfer from SuperSport United in January 2025, he struggled for game time, making only four appearances across all competitions despite a more prominent role initially.
Morris to work with Ben Youssef again
Originally brought in by former head coach Nasreddine Nabi to strengthen the attack, Morris made a promising start but eventually fell out of favour.

Despite previous interest from other clubs, including Durban City and Stellenbosch FC, the striker had been determined to stay at Naturena and fight for his position during the last transfer window.
Although he managed to work his way back into the team and even scored towards the end of the season, the club has now deemed him surplus to requirements.

The decision comes as Chiefs prepare for the arrival of new coach Fernando Da Cruz, who is expected to start pre-season preparations next week. The club actively bolstered their attack with signings like Etiosa Ighodaro, Glody Lilepo, Flavio Silva, and Khanyisa Mayo last season which further limited Morris’s opportunities.
A transfer to Durban City, reported by SABC, offers the experienced forward a chance to revitalise his career under a familiar coach, while Chiefs streamline their roster for a new era under Da Cruz.
Morris has made just 14 appearances for Chiefs, scoring one goal, for the Soweto giants.
