AmaZulu FC winger Tshepang Moremi’s representative has given an update on the future of his client amid interest from big three – Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.
Sundowns and Pirates have been the long-time admirers of the 23-year-old while Amakhosi recently joined the clubs interested in the Bafana Bafana youngster.
Having secured Nasreddine Nabi as their new coach, Chiefs are now prioritising acquiring quality personnel to bolster the squad ahead of next season. Their aim is to turn the tide and achieve success.
The Buccaneers are undergoing a rebuild, having released six players. They've bolstered their squad with the confirmed signing of Gilberto from Petro de Luanda.
Ezimnyama Ngenkani are also understood to have signed Thalente Mbatha permanently after the young midfielder spent the last six months on loan with the club from SuperSport United.
It appears AmaZulu and Pirates have had meetings before over the potential transfer of Moremi, however, nothing came out of it.
According to the reports, Sundowns also made Moremi one of their top targets as they are building the team with young talent.
Initially, it appeared the left-footed player wouldn't return to AmaZulu, with a move to one of Gauteng's big three clubs seemingly on the cards. However, his agent Mike Makaab has told KickOff that it’s highly unlikely that Moremi will move ahead of the 2024/25 season.
However, he admitted to being overwhelmed by the immense interest on the player he has received.
AGENT ON WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS FOR TSHEPANG MOREMI
“I don't think so [he will move ahead of the new season], but you know. There has been a lot of interest in him,” said Makaab.
“Tshepang, if you sit with him and talk to him, what a wonderful character. You get certain football players that have such an incredible desire to be the best, to work hard, to be as professional and committed to his career as possible, and Moremi is one of those players.
“He's an exciting player. Last season was his breakthrough season at AmaZulu. I think we're going to see a lot of the young man this season and ja, l'm excited about him and his future.
“But at the moment, I think it's important for him to continue at AmaZulu, become a regular and make a difference to the team.”
Moremi came through AmaZulu youth ranks and was loaned out to Bizana Pondo Chiefs upon his promotion to the first team. He also had a second loan spell with JDR Stars prior to rejoining the club last season.
He played 34 games last season, scoring two goals in the DStv Premiership.
