CAF CL: Bukasa opens up about Mosimane, Ibenge inspiration ahead of Lupopo’s date with Pirates

St Eloi Lupopo coach Guy Bukasa is hopeful of completing the job on Saturday when his team play Orlando Pirates at the Orlando Stadium.

The Democratic Republic of Congo outfit secured a 3-0 win in the first leg of the CAF Champions League's second preliminary round played in Lubumbashi. All they need to do is avoid a loss of more than two goals to make the group stage. A draw will also be good for Lupopo.

Bukasa has welcomed the challenge at the Orlando Stadium, explaining why his players had to remain disciplined for them to deliver.

The tactician has further stated that this weekend's game will be a massive opportunity to show all that they are not a small team. Pirates have further been warned that the opponents are ‘willing to fight for every single minute, to achieve their goal.

Lupopo is not a small team, we are willing to fight!

“If we want to grow and if we want to be named one of the very good clubs in Africa, this kind of game is inevitable, because even in the first preliminary round, it was really difficult, but we are trying to build a disciplined team that is willing to fight in every single minute in a game,” he said in the pre-match interview.

“We are excited to be here, and this is a great opportunity to show that we are not as small as people think.”

Bukasa further explained how South Africa's great and Congolese legend Florent Ibenge have motivated him, “Ibenge is a great motivation for us coaches, and especially young coaches. Coaches like Florent Ibenge and Pitso Mosimane brought respect to African coaches, and they've been great teachers to all of us,” he concluded.
