Kaizer Chiefs defender Aden McCarthy says he is not feeling the pressure of being compared with his father Fabian McCarthy who starred for the club in the past but rather keen on writing his own story.
“I wouldn’t say there’s pressure,” McCarthy said as per Africa Soccer.
“You know, there’s always outside noise, comparisons, and all of that stuff. I’ve had this question since the first time I started playing for the DDC reserve team. For me, I just turn that pressure into drive. I want to do what he did, I want to do better, and I just want to take it to another level.”
Amakhosi cool interest in Chippa United star

Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly cooled their interest in Chippa United midfielder Sinoxolo Kwayiba who was on their radar earlier in the season. The midfielder is now close to joining Stellenbosch FC.
“Look, there was interest from Chiefs but they have since gone quiet. There were enquiries earlier in the season but now that the season is left with only one game, there’s been silence. Maybe he will need to perform really well against them on the weekend and score two goals or something like that for them to come back,” a source told Soccer Laduma.
Kaizer Chiefs not doing favours for anyone

Kaizer Chiefs star Aden McCarthy insists his team is focused on achieving their target of 57 points ahead of their final match against relegation-threatened Chippa United.
Chiefs are looking to equal their best points tally in six years after securing third place and will hope to do that with a win over Chippa, who could go down if they lose and both Marumo Gallants and Orbit College win.
“It will be a difficult game and situation that we find ourselves in, but we are not in the business of doing favours for anyone,” McCarthy said during a press conference at the Chiefs Village in Naturena on Thursday.
“We know from the previous teams he [Brandon Truter] has coached that he plays a certain way, but we don’t know how he will approach this game with Chippa.”
