Orlando Pirates will be away at the DHL Cape Town Stadium on Wednesday to play hosts Cape Town City in the Premier Soccer League outing from 19.30 SAT.

The Citizens are high on confidence after beating Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday, and depending on the results of the teams above them, another win might take them to fourth.

The Buccaneers are guaranteed a top spot on the table if they manage to collect maximum points.

Cape Town City fired coach Eric Tinkler after posting unfavourable results, replacing him with Muhsin Ertugral. The latter's debut at the club was on Sunday against Kaizer Chiefs, a match they won by a solitary goal.

In the last five matches, the Citizens have two wins and three losses.

The Buccaneers have enjoyed their best start in the Premier Soccer League, having won nine out of the 10 games played.

Coach Jose Riveiro and his players are keen on getting a win to overtake leaders and defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns who have played a game more.

In the head-to-head record, Bucs have won four out of the five recent meetings across all competitions, with one ending in a draw.

What They Said

“Orlando Pirates at the moment one of the best teams not only in South Africa but in the continent,” Ertugral said ahead of the match.

“We need to get over this performance as quickly as possible and we'll see, because both teams can play a very tactical approach.”

The Buccaneers played in the Caf Champions League assignment last weekend against Stade d'Abidjan, a match they won 3-0 to go top of Group C.

“It's about ambitions, it's about dedication, it's about commitment. We went through a difficult month but you have to show that you are still a professional football player at a time when everybody is having festive days, having parties, and fun,” Riveiro stated.
