Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso is thrilled with the signing of Jayden Adams who has started life at the club in brilliant fashion.
Adams arrived in the January transfer window and has so far featured in eight matches, playing a starring role for Sundowns in both the PSL and Nedbank Cup.
The former Stellenbosch FC midfielder has started five games, all of them in the league and scored two goals, playing both box-to-box and attacking roles for the Brazilians and his coach is thrilled that he does not need to teach him a lot.
What has thrilled Cardoso about Adams?
“We have quality players, and Jayden is of course one of them. He’s happy being among us. I think that has been helping him to settle,” Cardoso said.
“And the way we’re playing and the things we want from him in terms of tasks, he’s able to do them. He’s capable of doing many things. He’s a very interesting player in terms of understanding the game. He’s very intelligent.
“And even without needing to run too much he knows how to get the ball in the right spaces and read the different dimensions of the game.”
Ex-Stellies star has elevated Sundowns’ game

Adams has offered Sundowns another dimension to their game since his arrival, acting as a great link between defence and attack, while allowing them to play through the lines.
His ability to pass and move in tight spaces has helped unlock tight defences, making Sundowns a joy to watch when going forward, after the PSL champions struggled to create chances from open play when Themba Zwane got injured last October.
The 23-year-old looks like he will be vital for Sundowns as they challenge for the PSL, CAF Champions League and Nedbank Cup.
Sundowns enjoy a 12-point lead over second-placed Orlando Pirates in the PSL while they are both in the quarter-finals of the Champions League and Nedbank Cup.
