Magesi FC will set history by playing in the Carling Knockout final in their debut Premier Soccer League campaign.
Dikwena tsa Meetse started their adventure with a surprising 3-2 win over Orlando Pirates at the Orlando Stadium in the Round of 16. They then got past TS Galaxy and Richards Bay in the next two hurdles to set up a final with Mamelodi Sundowns.
The PSL defending champions Masandawana are coming into this weekend's fixture at Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein as favourites owing to the quality they have. However, in a bid to motivate his arsenal, Magesi chairman Solly Makhubela has revealed how he will reward the players if they win against the Brazilians.
‘The carrots will be there for Magesi players'
“Normally, when you want to surprise your own child, you don’t say it,” he said in his pre-match interview on Thursday.
“Because if you say to your child if you pass, I give you this is not the same as if say my boy is you pass, you’ll see my colour if I’m your father or I’m not your father.
“Normally this thing I don’t prefer it; other people prefer it. But you know sometimes these things you promise, and you didn’t talk to the technical team, you didn’t talk to the management, you didn’t sit together, and you are taking a decision,” Makhubela continued.
“At the end of the day when something is not going right, they come at the back they say to you, but you have decided one, but you said the team belongs to us. Why didn’t you sit with us?
“So, you rather keep the carrots, but you know the carrots will be there.”
