Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Cedric Kaze has reacted to guiding Amakhosi to the inaugural Home of Legends Cup title.

Amakhosi were crowned the champions after defeating Mamelodi Sundowns 5-4 in the penalty shootout in the final.

The match had to be decided on penalties after the two sides were locked on 0-0 draw in the 90 minutes.

The Soweto giants reached the final after eliminating Lamontville Golden Arrows with a 2-0 victory in the first game of the day in the morning.

Meanwhile, Sundowns knocked out the hosts Chippa United to book the place in the final.

Kaze expressed their delight at the victory, stating that it would energize the team as they gear up for their return to the Betway Premiership post-international break.

KAZE SAYS WINNING HOME OF LEGENDS CUP IS A CONFIDENCE BOOSTER FOR CHIEFS

“On our side, it was a good game to make everyone get minutes, those who haven’t had an opportunity to play a lot of games lately,” said Kaze.

“It’s a very good day for us because we finished the day with a trophy. It might have not been a lot because it’s a friendly tournament.

“But we believe that it’s gonna give us the boost that we needed going forward to the league games.”
