Chiefs coach Nabi delivers post-tour verdict on new recruits and DDC stars

Published on by

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has delivered his eagerly awaited post-tour assessment, focusing on the progress and potential of the club's new signings and the DDC players who gained invaluable experience during their recent pre-season stint in the Netherlands.

The tour, which concluded with Amakhosi touching down in South Africa on July 20th, presented a mixed bag of results, as the team registered four losses in five friendly encounters, with their sole triumph coming against PEC Zwolle.

However, Nabi's outlook on the squad's evolution is notably positive. He articulated his firm belief that the inclusion of new signings Thabiso Monyane, Nkanyiso Shinga, Ethan Chislett, and Flavio Da Silva will be transformative for the team.

Nabi explicitly stated his confidence that these additions will enable Chiefs to ascend to a “much higher level” of performance.

This strong endorsement from the head coach indicates that, despite the initial pre-season hurdles, there's a strong belief in the strategic decisions made in player recruitment and the potential for significant growth within the squad.

‘THEY ARE ALL ADAPTING NICELY’

“They need to fully jell with the group,” Nabi told Chiefs media team.

“However, they are all adapting nicely, and they start to understand what I expect from them. Our objective was to sign new players that will bring us to a higher level compared to last season.”

He added, “We don’t want to rush them. However, I am always willing to give maximum opportunities to young talents. If you are good enough, you are old enough to play. That’s my philosophy.”
