Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly sorted out the future of goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma who is among the long-serving members of the squad.

Bvuma is reported to have committed his future to the Glamour Boys by signing a new contract, solidifying his status as a valuable member of the team.

According to iDiski Times, Chiefs have extended Bvuma’s deal for an additional year. The 31-year-old’s previous contract, signed in 2024, was set to expire on Tuesday, June 30 but he has been given a stay of execution.

Most senior player at Kaizer Chiefs

The South African international spent much of the last season as the second-choice goalkeeper behind Brandon Petersen, who was in excellent form, but proved his value when called upon following an injury to the latter.

In his five appearances, he kept two clean sheets and was instrumental in securing three victories for the Soweto giants.

Having made his debut in March 2017, Bvuma is now the most senior player in the squad. He has accumulated 84 appearances for the Glamour Boys across all competitions and was part of the team that won the Nedbank Cup in 2025 under former coach Nasreddine Nabi.

During the 2024-25 season, Bvuma was the first-choice goalkeeper under Nabi, having dislodged Petersen and Rwanda international Fiacre Ntwari, whose own future at Naturena is uncertain.

With Bvuma’s future sorted, it seems he will compete again with Petersen for a starting berth in goal under new coach Fernando da, who is no stranger to both goalkeepers, as he worked with them during his brief spell as Nabi’s assistant in 2024.
