Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari has not made any competitive appearances for the club this season, but is still rated highly by Rwanda coach Adel Amrouche.
As a matter of fact, the former TS Galaxy custodian was in goal as Amavubi played Nigeria and Zimbabwe in matchdays seven and eight of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Rwanda lost to the Super Eagles by a solitary goal before beating the Warriors by the same margin.
The 25-year-old pulled some top-class saves despite his lack of game fitness, explaining why Amrouche has kept faith in him.

Ntwari has since lauded his national team coach for the faith and trust in him, and even went on to reassure him why he will continue donning the national team's jersey.
Coach continues to give me confidence
“I think the coach has been helping me a lot because since he came, I have never played for my club. And it’s not easy for any coach to say the goalkeeper is not playing for one month or four months. It’s a problem. But I appreciate the trust he has in me,” Ntwari told FARPost.
“He continues to motivate me and give me the confidence to say, even if you are not playing in your club, but in the national team, you are my number one.
Ntwari insists Rwanda are now focused on 2027 Afcon since chances of qualifying for the World Cup are slim.

“I think the future is bright for the national team of Rwanda, with coach Adel. The main target is the AFCON 2027. These World Cup qualifiers are helping us shape the team into how the coach wants us to play, so that we can be ready. We haven’t qualified for AFCON for quite a while. And I think with him, in 2027, people will see Rwanda at the AFCON,” he concluded.
Ntwari is expected to make matchday squad as Amakhosi host Sekhukhune United on Tuesday in the Premier Soccer league.
