Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates have been charged by the Premier Soccer League Disciplinary Committee for the fans' troubles.
Amakhosi supporters were found guilty of missile throwing in the recent Soweto Derby against their old rivals Pirates. The fans were unhappy with the controversial penalty awarded to their opponents at the death which was converted by Patrick Maswanganyi.
The Buccaneers fans were equally guilty of the same offense but against Mamelodi Sundowns in their recent outing. The Sea Robbers fell 4-1 against the defending Premier Soccer League champions.
The Premier Soccer League DC, prosecutor Zola Majavu has now confirmed the punishment to the Soweto giants.
Chiefs set to pay the price for fans troubles once again

“Kaizer Chiefs football club was fined R100 000, of which R50 000 is suspended for a period of 12 months on condition they are not found guilty of the same offence,” Majavu said.
“Unfortunately, in October last year, Chiefs appeared before the DC facing the same charges in respect they were fined R200 000, of R100 000 was suspended if they are not found guilty of the same offence in 12 months.
“Now that they re-offended and convicted accordingly, it means the suspended R100 000 is triggered and payable immediately. In total, Chiefs will pay R150 000.”
How much will Pirates pay?

“The Buccaneers have also pleaded guilty and were fined R100 000, of which R25 000 is suspended on the same condition that they do not re-offend in 12 months,” the PSL prosecutor continued.
“However, Pirates also appeared in front of the DC in November for a similar incident and will now pay R125 000 in total after triggering the R100 000 fine back in November.
“Both Chiefs and Pirates have also been ordered to publish the punishment on their websites to show supporters that this type of behaviour is not condemned in stadiums.”
