Chiefs Transfer News: Agent confirms contract negotiations with star player

Kaizer Chiefs are keen on sustaining their good run, especially in the Premier Soccer League, where they are just four points behind leaders Orlando Pirates.

A section of the fans believe their team can defy the odds and go all the way to win the South African top flight football. However, the main target is reportedly finishing in the top four and successfully defend their Nedbank Cup title.

One of the players who have been doing well is goalkeeper Brandon Petersen who was appointed the captain a couple of weeks ago. His current deal with the Soweto giants ends on June 30 this year,

However, according to his agent Glyn Binkin, discussions are in place to extend it beyond this season.

“In terms of Brandon (Petersen), we are in discussions with them,” he said as quoted by Soccer Laduma.

“They have an option (clause) anyway on the existing contract. So it’s finishing on 30th June 2026, but they have an option for a year. But we are speaking about a new contract for him anyway,” Binkin concluded.
