Kaizer Chiefs are strengthening their squad ahead of the forthcoming Premier Soccer League campaign.
The Glamour Boys are retaining the players who they feel will be valuable in their quest to meet the set objectives. So far, Amakhosi have parted ways with Njabulo Blom (who was serving the club on loan from Major Soccer League side St. Louis City SC, Sabelo Radebe, Ranga Chivaviro, Edmilson Dove and Mduduzi Mdantsane.
However, one player who has impressed coach Nasreddine Nabi is defender Zitha Kwinika, who struggled for game time. The 31-year-old played the last six games of the season across all competitions, thanks to suspensions to Inacio Miguel and injuries suffered by Given Msinago and Rushwin Dortley.
Chiefs make a decision on the future of Kwinika

“Kaizer Chiefs defender Zitha Kwinika has finally put pen to paper on a one-year contract,” SABC Sport confirmed on Tuesday.
“The centre back had been the subject of speculation regarding his future at Naturena with his initial deal set to expire at the end of the 2024/25 season, and at the time Kwinika appeared surplus to requirements.
“Kwinika started, and finished, four of the last five Betway Premiership matches for Amakhosi as well as the cup final victory over bitter rivals Orlando Pirates,” they concluded.
Chiefs will be hoping to deliver in the Premier Soccer League after finishing outside the top half in the last two editions. Apart from the Nedbank Cup and Carling Knockout, the Glamour Boys will also be chasing the Caf Confederation Cup glory.
Kwinika is set to battle for the starting berth with Msimango, Cardoso, and Dortley, who have been above him in the pecking order.
