Chiefs Transfer News: Goalkeeper released by Amakhosi

Kaizer Chiefs have not added any star player in the January transfer window as opposed to their Premier Soccer League and Nedbank Cup rivals Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates.

The defending South African top-tier champions have added Monnapule Saleng from the Sea Robbers, as well as Khulumani Ndamane who came in from TS Galaxy, and Brayan Leon who was playing for Indipendiente Medellin, Colombia.

The Buccaneers have signed New Zealand international Andre de Jong who shone with Stellenbosch alongside former Marumo Gallants duo Daniel Msendami and Mpho Chabatsane.

Amakhosi have added one player, Xhosa Manyana, who joined the DDC team to help them in challenging for the Championship title owing to their struggles. On Friday, the Soweto giants confirmed the exit of goalkeeper Bontle Molefe to the Motsepe Foundation Championship side Leicesterford City FC.

“Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Bontle Molefe will be joining Leicesterford City FC on loan until the end of the 2025/26 season. Leicesterford City, based in Mpumalanga, compete in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, which is the national first division of South African football, under the PSL banner,” the club confirmed through a statement to the public.

“This loan move forms part of the Club’s broader strategy to ensure that its promising emerging talent gains valuable game time and the experience required to thrive at the highest level of the sport.

“We are confident that this opportunity will help Kaizer Chiefs Youth Development Academy (KCYDA) product, Bontle, sharpen his skills further and continue his growth as a professional footballer.

We also believe he will use his talent and the experience he has gained over the years to contribute towards helping Leicesterford compete for promotion to the Betway Premiership. We wish him every success on this exciting new chapter of his career,” Chiefs concluded.
