Chiefs Transfer News: Has ex-Pirates attacker told Nabi to try ‘unbelievable’ Mbule?

Published on by

Sekhukhune United captain Linda Mntambo has challenged former teammate Sipho Mbule to step up and show Mzansi how good he is on the pitch.

Mntambo played with Mbule at Babina Noko last season, where the latter was featuring on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns. However, breach of discipline led to his immature exit, and Masandawana opted against extending the 27-year-old's deal.

The versatile midfielder has since been linked to Kaizer Chiefs, with his agent Mike Makaab admitting he has given the Soweto giants a chance to acquire the services of the combative anchorman.

During his short spell at Sekhukhune, Mbule played 17 games where he managed to find the back of the net twice, and managed to create two assists as well. Mntambo, who has initially served Orlando Pirates, has challenged Mbule to tone down and give Mzansi a show in football since he is very talented.

‘Mbule has confidence in abundance'

“That broer [brother] knows ball. If there’s one person who knows ball it’s Sphola [Mbule].  I know people only see his glimpses of performances on matchday, but for us who train with Sphola, he’s just unbelievable,” he told Arena Sports Show.

“Sphola oozes confidence. He’s not short of it. He’s got confidence in abundance; if you need it, he can fill your cup a little bit with it. That’s how good that brother is.

“Sphola just comes to training and warns everyone when he comes in. I think if there’s a player that has to win Player of the Season back-to-back-to-back, it should be Sipho Mbule,” he continued.

‘I pray he gives Mzansi one good season'

“I just hope he understands how good he is and that the years are passing by, so that he can play his best football, so that he can give the country and everyone who roots for him what they deserve,” Mntambo continued.

“I pray that Sphola gives the people just one good season and does all that’s right. He doesn’t need to put much effort but just to say, ‘this season I’m just giving it to football’. Nothing on the sides, just focus on football.

‘Sphola’s gonna go overseas,” the former Buccaneer concluded.
