Sipho Mbule’s agent has broken his silence over reports linking the midfielder to Kaizer Chiefs.
Mbule is a free agent after leaving Mamelodi Sundowns, who opted against exercising their two-year contract extension on his deal, and a number of clubs have been sounded out over the possibility of signing him.
Chiefs are among those teams and now, his agent Mike Makaab has come out to clear the air over reports linking his client to the Glamour Boys.
What has Mbule’s agent said over Chiefs links?
“Let me set the record straight. Sipho Mbule has been offered to Kaizer Chiefs. It is up to the club to make the decision and we need to respect that decision,” Makaab posted on social media, confirming that indeed there has been contact with Chiefs.
Chiefs now have a decision to make on whether they should sign the highly talented midfielder whose qualities on the pitch are not in doubt but has several issues off it.
The midfielder played for two seasons at Sundowns since joining in 2022 from SuperSport United, making 51 appearances and scoring three goals, but was deemed surplus to requirements ahead of last season, leading to a loan spell at Sekhukhune United.
Midfielder has a number of off-field problems
However, the main issue was not his lack of abilities but his off-field problems as he had a number of disciplinary issues with reports of turning up to training under the influence of alcohol.

Those same problems cropped up again during Mbule’s loan stint at Sekhukhune, leading to the club cutting short his stay, and he is now looking for a new home as a free agent.
Chiefs are in the market for reinforcements in midfield following the imminent departures of Njabulo Blom and George Matlou but whether they are willing to take a risk on Mbule remains to be seen.
