Kaizer Chiefs have not yet made any signings in the ongoing January transfer window despite their rivals adding quality players in their already impressive squads.

For instance, Mamelodi Sundowns have added Monnapule Saleng (Orlando Pirates), Khulumani Ndamane (TS Galaxy), andBrayan Leon ( Independiente Medellin).

Orlando Pirates have managed to bring on board Andre De Jong (Stellenbosch FC), Daniel Msendami, and Mpho Chabatsane (Marumo Gallants).

Interestingly, Masandawana and Bucs lead the race for the Premier Soccer League crown while Kaizer Chiefs are seen as the dark horses. It explains why their fans must have felt the need to have their team reinforced with better quality to stand a chance of winning silverware.

Why Chiefs haven’t signed new players

“I’m very happy with the squad that we have. We signed practically 12 players at the beginning of the season. And as I said, the struggles that we had in a pre-season which didn’t put especially the new players into very good conditions to play or to understand how we want to play. Now we have had time to rectify that,” Kaze told the media.

“And we’re pretty sure that we’re going to see more quality from everyone, especially from the new players.

“And as well, you know January it’s a tricky period. You need to be careful how you sign players and I’m not saying as well that we’re not signing any player.

“We are looking, if there is an opportunity that we can get, we’ll go get it. The period is ending at the end of the month. But as well, the players that we have now we know that they will compete very well,” Kaze concluded.
