There have been speculations about the future of Ashley du Preez who has been struggling to make an impact at Kaizer Chiefs consistently.
The 28-year-old signed a new two-year deal with the Glamour Boys at the beginning of the 2025/26 season as he was seen by the technical team as a player who can help them have a fast and effective attacking department.

However, his tendecy of missing obvious chances and stiff competition in the atatcking department have seen him make appearances from the bench or get overlooked completely.
In the ongoing campaign, he has represented the Soweto giants eight times across all competitions, with just an assist to his name.
Du Preez set to leave Kaizer Chiefs?
However, Amakhosi are not keen on selling the former Stellenbosch player as reported by Soccer Laduma.
“Chiefs stance on Du Preez has not changed: they view the striker as a long-term asset and are committed to supporting him through this challenging period. With 18 months remaining on his contract, the message from Naturena is that patience, rather than panic, will guide their approach,” they reported.

“They want him to stay, they believe he has the potential to be one of the best strikers in South Africa They want him to just fight for his place. You know he still has a lot of potential, a lot of room to contribute to the club.
“With Chiefs eager to build consistency and depth in attack, the coming months could prove pivotal for Du Preez, as the club’s faith in him is matched by an opportunity to respond on the pitch and reassert his value in the famous gold and black colours,” they concluded.
