Chiefs Transfer News: Nabi impressed by new face despite loss vs Kotoko

Kaizer Chiefs have so far confirmed the arrival of six players ahead of the 2025/26 Premier Soccer League season.

Flavio Silva (Persebaya Surabaya, Indonesia), Ethan Chislett (Port Vale, England), Nkanyiso Shinga (FC Alverce, Portugal), Paseka Mako (Orlando Pirates), Thabiso Monyane (Orlando Pirates), and Siphesihle Ndlovu (SuperSport United) are so far the new players at the Glamour Boys.

In the pre-season tour in the Netherlands, Amakhosi played five games and ended up with a win, while the remaining four games ended in defeats. Silva, Chislett, Shinga and Monyane were the new players who took part in the competition.

‘Job well done'

Former Orlando Pirates defender Paseka Mako missed the pre-season owing to a hand injury, while Siphesihle Ndlovu missed out following his failure to get the Dutch Visa on time. However, he played a part as Chiefs faced Asante Kotoko on Saturday, a match they lost on penalties following a goalless draw in regulation time.

Coach Nabi was impressed with what he saw from the midfielder, “It is true that Ndlovu was not part of the squad due to the timeline to get the visa. But we took the opportunity as well; he worked with Majdi [Safi], who worked with the other players with the same issues,” he told the media.

“We took the time to our advantage, and the work that was done with him was very good by Majdi. Unfortunately, it was without friendly games because it wasn’t possible, but we feel it was a job well done,” he concluded.
