Kaizer Chiefs have been busy in the ongoing Summer Transfer Window in their bid to get the players they need ahead of the new season that kicks off on August 8.
However, they have not been unveiling them until Tuesday, July 1, when they confirmed the arrival of versatile defender Nkanyiso Shinga from Portuguese outfit FC Alverca who have been recently promoted to the top tier.
The 25-year-old was instrumental in the 2024/25 season, where he played 20 Liga Portugal 2 games. The Glamour Boys identified him as a player to help the club realise their targets, prompting the management to go for his services.
Chiefs confirm Nkanyiso Shinga's arrival
“Player Announcements! We are pleased to announce the signing of 25-year-old Nkanyiso Shinga,” the Soweto giants confirmed.
“The talented left-back is a versatile operator who can also play in midfield and attack. He will don jersey #74. Welcome to the Family!”
Shinga's arrival will increase competition in the department as no other player is released or sent on loan. Despite the exit of Edmilson Dove, Amakhosi have Bradley Cross, Bongani Sam and Happy Mashiane in their ranks.
Reports have it that they have also acquired the services of Paseka Mako, who was released by Orlando Pirates a couple of days ago. It is interesting how coach Nasreddine Nabi will select his team in the forthcoming campaign.
