‘Chiefs will beat average Downs in Nedbank Cup! PSL don’t protect Masandawana but Adams is better than Rele’

Mamelodi Sundowns laboured to a 1-0 win over Sekhukhune United on Friday night to set a Nedbank Cup semi-final berth with Kaizer Chiefs.

The game ended goalless in regulation time, before a 119th-minute goal by in-form Bafana Bafana midfielder Jayden Adams broke Babina Noko's faithful.

The victory kept the Brazilians chances of winning at least a treble alive. Have a look at what the fans said after the hard-fought win at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium.

Only thing keeping average Sundowns in Nedbank Cup is time

The team that deserved to win won. You had one team with more than 20 goal attempts and another with 3 goal attempts and a goalkeeper faking injuries for 120 minutes –  Kwanele Zulu

Jayden Adam's is better than the overrated Relebohile Mofokeng. Let's take some rest Masandawana. We have a big fish to fry on Tuesday, April 1 –  Ronewa Lethole

So a team like Sekhukhune took you toe toe-to-toe until the 119th minute! So average, the mighty Amakhosi is waiting for you. The only thing keeping you in this Nedbank Cup is time – Dre Chavalala

Patrice Motsepe must purchase us Elon Musk, we want to play with Aliens, humans are ordinary –  Respekt M'seka Phofu

That's what you do when you really need to win the match. Some other coach would have brought on defenders in fear of conceding, but our coach went all out in attack. What the man – Ntshoauoa Putsoa

Masandawana have no team ‘B'

The football gods were against us the whole game only to show up in the last minute of the game. Thanks for fighting and believing, boys, no matter what. I'm so emotional about the way the referees were against us. I feel like they gonna say the goal doesn't stand even after the final whistle – Thapelo Modjadji Jr.

We, Masandawana know that we don’t have team B in our squad; we only have 14 players who are active for winning us the games – Thobani Dona-Dona Sithole

I see our coaches wanted to rest our key players for 1 April, unfortunately the first lineup didn't deliver good results ,I'm happy for Adams he's now fit for that position – Freedom Nene

PSL seems to do very little to protect us, even Safa. Sekhukhune match shouldn't have been played. I don't care about the scheduling, but this could be costly for us in a game that is more important for the club. The boys won, congratulations, but this is also frustrating. We do deserve a little bit of consideration by those who run our local football – Mnyamande Uhuru Skhandisa

The so called offside nearly messed up , we fought and eventually won! Sales need to up his finishing tactics , he is costing us goals and somewhat embarrassing us! – Snow Soulman
