Coach Clinton Larsen announced his shocking exit from Magesi FC on Saturday, after his team's 3-0 win in the Black Label Cup against the Carling Knockout All-Stars.

The former Orlando Pirates midfielder helped Dikwena ts Meetse get their Premier Soccer League ticket for the first time in the club's history. He then managed to help the team win the Carling Knockout after beating Mamelodi Sundowns in the final.

The 53-year-old has not had a good start to the PSL campaign whereby he has lost the last three games to remain rooted at the bottom. Have a look at what the fans said after the tactician's exit.

Clinton saw Magesi are going to be relegated

What were they expecting from the coach? Magesi has only played one game at home, the rest were on the road. Even the Carling Cup Magesi played all their games away. Management was so unfair to Clinton, but like they say and how fate works out, Magesi FC will reap what they sow. Letting go of Clinton was their biggest mistake –  Prince Kgosi

He's taking a calculated move; he can already see that Magesi are going to be relegated and this can ruin his CV. Magesi have 21 games to play in the league and I doubt a new coach will change the fortunes –  De Bongo Musicated

Like a good dancer, Clinton Larson knew when to leave the stage – Mushe Emmanuel Mulea

He mentioned, “We don’t have the depth in our team to make changes.” He surely needs players but these clubs sometimes aren’t supporting coaches with signing players. They just want money – Simamkele Mazondwa

As long as Magesi managed to beat Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates, Clinton did very well – Emmanuel Manu Mafokwane

Go back and promote another team

You can't play with the same squad for two years. Magesi FC need experienced players – Augustine Ndlovu

A good coach knows when to leave, I wish you all the best. It is not working for you. Maybe you needed to promote Magesi.  Go back and promote another team. Who knows, maybe you are meant to promote teams – Silence Mabasa Xitsoni

Clinton sounded very disappointed. I wonder what Magesi FC did to him – Mntwana UNduduzo Ntokozo

This might be Benni McCarthy's moment to glory – Kwanda Tutu Kamanci

Clinton is a very good coach, unfortunately, he is met with the same fate as Nasreddine Nabi, where he does not have a quality squad of players. He must be proud of his achievements thus far. It's better to leave before things turn very sour – Lerato Basetsana Senne
