Doc Khumalo’s shocking revelation about Bafana’s dressing room ahead of AFCON

Kaizer Chiefs legend Doctor Khumalo has alleged the Bafana Bafana dressing room is not okay.

In the last couple of days, there has been a lot of negative publicity surrounding the national team. It began with coach Hugo Broos slamming rising star Mbekezeli Mbokazi for reporting in camp, for Africa Cup of Nationa preparations, late.

The Belgian’s sentiments regarding the 20-year-old’s disciplinary breach and move to Major League Soccer side Chicago Fire were deemed discriminatory. On Tuesday, Bafana Bafana were not convincing as they laboured to a 1-0 win over a seemingly weak Ghana side.

All these happened just a couple of days before the national team play Angola on Monday in AFCON’s Group B outing.

Khumalo makes a damning allegation

According to South Africa and Kaizer Chiefs legend Doctor Khumalo, there is a problem within the team which is making it hard for the players to fully concentrate and deliver as they are supposed to.

Let’s continue to do what makes us look best on the field,” the former attacker said during his analysis on SABC Sport.

“Let’s hope our players are clear-minded, because I heard via the grapevine, the camp is not okay.

“So they are still fighting for something. I hope and wish when they get there [to Morocco] everything is resolved,” Khumalo concluded.

After playing Angola on Monday, Bafana Bafana will focus on the game against the seven-time champions, Egypt four days later, before concluding their group matches on December 29th with Zimbabwe.

South Africa hope to go all the way after winning bronze in the 2023 edition staged in Ivory Coast.
