Bafana Bafana winger Elias Mokwana is closing in on a move to Saudi Arabia, but his proposed loan switch to Al-Hazem has reportedly not yet been finalised.
The 25-year-old, who recently won a domestic treble in his debut season with Tunisian giants Esperance Sportive de Tunis, has been strongly linked with a season-long loan to the Saudi Pro League.
While some reports suggested the deal was already complete, a source close to the player has clarified that negotiations are still underway.

“It’s not yet agreed; we are still sorting out a few things,” a source told Soccer Laduma. “The player’s representative in Saudi, who is working on behalf of his South African agent, is handling the matter. As we speak, discussions are ongoing with all parties, and it looks promising. What is certain is that he will be leaving Esperance, but the finer details are still being finalised.”
Mokwana could link up with Nkota in Saudi
If the transfer is completed, Mokwana will join fellow South African Mohau Nkota in Saudi Arabia, after the winger recently sealed a move from Orlando Pirates to Al-Ettifaq.

Mokwana made a significant impact in his first season at Esperance, contributing to 11 goals in over 30 appearances across all competitions.
A recent report by Win Win claimed that the Saudi club is ready to spend $800,000 (R14million) to sign Mokwana and it remains to be seen if the transfer will materialise.
Mokwana joined Esperance last season and after a slow start, he managed six goals and four assists as the Tunisian giants won the league, Tunisian cup and Super Cup.
