SAFA is on the verge of appointing former Kaizer Chiefs head coach Molefi Ntseki, 55, as its new Technical Director, succeeding Walter Steenbok.
This pivotal move sees Ntseki rejoin the SAFA structure, having previously served as Technical Director for Marumo Gallants following a challenging 13-game spell as head coach at Kaizer Chiefs, where he initially held a Head of Youth and Technical position.
His most recent national team assignment saw him successfully navigate the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers, leading the team to victories over Egypt and Malawi and securing a place in next month's tournament.
Ntseki's elevation to this significant SAFA role coincides with the exit of Walter Steenbok, whose contributions were instrumental in revitalizing junior national team successes and enhancing coaching licensing structures across the country.
The transition has already begun, with Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos confirming a meeting with the incoming Technical Director to discuss the national team's future trajectory.

NTSEKI SET TO BECOME SAFA TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
“There’s a new TD now, we have plans and I don’t want to talk about it today, but the first thing we will do in August, we will have a meeting with all the coaches, U17, U20 and Helman [Mkhalele] and we will discuss how to work in the future,” said Broos
“We will try to make a plan, try to make structure, so that the next years we can continue working like this – I said it when I came here four years ago, I can’t understand how a country like South Africa had such poor results.
“There was something not good… and I think in the next years we can change things, people had to adapt to my way of working, which was totally different, and the results are there, and we have to continue.
“But I’m not afraid of the future [after Steenbok’s exit], it’s going to be bright for South Africa.”
