Ex-Chiefs star urges Mofokeng to be patient after Nkota’s move – ‘It’s not like he went to Europe’

South Africa international Mohau Nkota recently made a shocking move to the Saudi Arabia Pro outfit Ettifaq Club.

The 20-year-old made his senior team breakthrough and former Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro last season. He played 39 games across all competitions and managed to score seven goals with five assists.

Since last season, the main discussion has been about Relebohile Mofokeng who has been linked with a move to top teams on the continent and Europe. It explains why many football lovers in Mzansi were shocked when Nkota made that surprising move to the Middle East.

Former Kaizer Chiefs player Michael Nkambule has told Mofokeng there is nothing to worry about and should not be under pressure following his peer's move.

‘Mofokeng is a special boy'

“For Rele, I think he needs to continue doing his work the way he has been doing it, the years still allow him, it's not like it was his last season or something, he still has a big chance, he can still play another 15 years to 20 years. He just needs to relax and play football,” he said on Junior Khanye's YouTube Channel.

“If you check the profile of Rele and Nkota, it's not the same. Rele's profile is stronger than Nkota's, that's why I think it won't affect him that much because Nkota has left, but if you check, he's going, Saudi Arabia, it's not like he went to Europe in the top five leagues.

“Rele is a star player and the face of Orlando Pirates now, and for him to leave it won't be easy because for Nkota, [Ettifaq] to negotiate with Dr. Khoza was maybe easy, but for Rele, he's going to want a lot of money. He's special, that boy,” Nkambule concluded.
