Mohau Nkota is set to see his pay increase significantly following his big-money move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq.
Nkota’s departure from Orlando Pirates was confirmed on Sunday and he is set to sign a three-year deal that will see him reportedly earn over R12 million annually after just one season in the PSL.
The 20-year-old left-footed winger made his Pirates debut last September, when he came on for Monnapule Saleng in a Carling Knockout match against Richards Bay, and did not look back.
He went on to replace Saleng permanently, ending his debut season with seven goals and five assists in 39 matches, to attract the interest of the cash-rich Saudi club.
How much will Nkota earn in Saudi?
According to KickOff, Nkota’s total pay package will be over $700,000 (R12.5 million) annually and will increase based on his performances.
There is hope that the winger will become an instant hit at Ettifaq although Pirates are reported to have agreed with the Saudi club to allow him return to the Soweto giants to regain his form if things do not go according to plan.

Unconfirmed reports also claim the winger’s transfer fee is in the region of £1.5 million (R36 million) and includes other add-ons that can take it up to £2.15 million (R52 million) if certain objectives are achieved.
“I feel so special I don’t think it is pressure on me, it is just to go there and work and be the person I am. Do what I have been doing,” Nkota said on Mike Morton Talks Football about his desire to succeed in Saudi.
