Former Kaizer Chiefs coach Cedric Kaze confirmed by PSL team after leaving Naturena

Kaizer Chiefs recently parted ways with co-coaches Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef who had been managing Amakhosi for almost the entire 2025/26 season.

The position fell vacant after the dismisal of Nasreddine Nabi just six games into the campaign after falling out with the management. The Tunisian had been given the mandate to coach the club at the beginning of the 2024/25 season when the Glamour Boys finished 10th on the Premier Soccer League table.

Kaze and Ben Youssef helped Amakhosi to finish third in the log, which secured the club a place in the CAF Confederation Cup; furthermore, it was the first time in six years the club had finished in that position. But they struggled in the Nedbank Cup and Carling Knockout.

Despite reports that Amakhosi were considering retaining the two, it seems either a deal was not reached, or the club opted to find an experienced coach to handle Amakhosi.

“Former Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze is expected to be unveiled as Sekhukhune United’s new head coach ahead of the 2026/27 season after reaching an agreement with the club,” FARPost reported.

The Burundian tactician is poised to succeed Eric Tinkler at Babina Noko following his departure from Chiefs at the end of the 2025/26 campaign.

“Kaze has already put pen to paper on a deal with Sekhukhune United, with only the club’s official announcement now awaited. The former Young Africans mentor is expected to lead Babina Noko into the new campaign as they look to establish themselves among the leading teams in the Premier Soccer League.

“Sekhukhune opted for Kaze as they prepare for the new season. The 45-year-old holds a Bachelor of Sport Science degree and possesses both CAF and German Football Federation A Licences. His coaching journey has taken him across East and Central Africa, where he has enjoyed notable success,” they concluded.
