Official: Ex-Pirates Star Lepasa Joins New Club

Orlando Pirates striker Zakhele Lepasa is poised to relaunch his professional career after securing a new contract with Siwelele FC

His recent signing marks a new chapter following his departure from the Buccaneers, a club he had been with from the junior teams

The end of this long-term relationship with the Buccaneers came after a challenging season for Lepasa, where a significant injury prevented him from making a single first-team appearance for the Soweto giants.

Despite his injury setbacks, Lepasa recently proved himself once again in the international stage, as he was included in the South African Nations Championship (CHAN) squad a few months ago.

LEPASA SIGNS WITH SIWELELE DESPITE BEING HEAVILY LINKED WITH DURBAN CITY

His move to Siwelele FC comes after a period of intense speculation regarding his future. Among the suitors was Durban City, with coach Gavin Hunt publicly expressing his interest in the former TS Galaxy striker.

However, Lepasa ultimately opted for Siwelele's offer, as he reunites with some players he played with when he was on loan at SuperSport.

The timing of this acquisition is critical for Siwelele FC, who have faced considerable challenges since the start of the season.

They are currently positioned precariously in the Betway Premiership standings, and the addition of a player of Lepasa's caliber is a significant statement of intent.

The club is hopeful that the experienced forward can make an immediate impact, providing the much-needed firepower and leadership to inspire a turnaround in their fortunes.

He will be hoping to make his debut when they take on Marumo Gallants on 28 September.
