Former Mamelodi Sundowns‘ set-piece coach Michael Loftman has returned to management after a six-month period without a club.
Loftman was part of Rulani Mokwena’s technical team at Sundowns before their departure ahead of the current season.
The UEFA A License holder had previously joined “Masandawana” in 2023 for a brief stint.
He has been appointed as head coach of Hout Bay United Football Community Trust.
Established in 2015, Hout Bay United Football Community Trust serves as a unifying force within Hout Bay's communities. Through football, the Trust is dedicated to mentoring and uplifting young people, instilling a sense of pride throughout the area.
Demonstrating its wide reach, the club manages 14 teams and engages roughly 500 players from Hout Bay, representing all ages, races, and genders within the locality.

NEW ROLE FOR MICHAEL LOFTMAN
“Some exciting updates to share while on route to St Georges Park for the next UEFA Pro Module,” Loftman posted on LinkedIn.
“I have now officially started a new role as Head Coach and Head of Coaching for Hout Bay United FC in Cape Town. It’s an exciting project full of purpose and potential, and fantastic foundations already built.
“It is also exciting to share that we will be hosting Jurgen Klopp for a special evening to celebrate ten years of the clubs impact in both football and the community in South Africa. There are a few tickets remaining for those who are interested.
Meanwhile, former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp will host a special event celebrating the Hout Bay United Football Community Trust's ten years of service.
“HBUFC meets Jürgen Klopp” will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at The Bay Harbour Market in Hout Bay.
“And finally… Coach Education will be back bigger and better than before. I can’t wait to share the project in the coming weeks and months.
“Looking forward to reconnecting and sharing content again!”
