Durban City FC are set to unveil Gavin Hunt as their new head coach for the 2025/26 season, the agreement in principle has been reached, according to SABC Sport.
The report added that Hunt, a four-time league winner, has also finalised decisions on key members of his incoming technical staff.
The appointment comes swiftly after Durban City's decision to part ways with Simo Dladla last week, despite him leading the club back to the Betway Premiership.
Dladla has since moved to AmaZulu, joining Arthur Zwane's technical team as an assistant. Hunt, who was unattached after leaving SuperSport United before the close of the previous campaign, quickly emerged as City's prime candidate.
The move has reportedly received the backing of Ernst Middendorp, Durban City's incoming technical director, with whom Hunt is understood to have engaged in early talks regarding the club's strategic plans.
While an official announcement and contract signing are slated for next week, the deal is now confirmed in principle.

ROWEN FERNANDEZ TO TAKE OVER GOALKEEPING COACH
Further details obtained by the SABC Sport reveal that Hunt has secured former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Rowen Fernandez as his goalkeeper coach.
Additionally, Kaitano Tembo is currently in talks to take on the assistant coach role.
Tembo's potential move follows his recent reassignment at Sekhukhune United, where he transitioned from the senior team bench to the reserve league after the club appointed Eric Tinkler.
Hunt, renowned for his past successes with SuperSport United and Bidvest Wits, now faces the challenge of building a new force in Durban. The Betway Premiership is scheduled to begin on August 8, with fixtures yet to be released.
