Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs have made some impressive signings ahead of the 2024/25 Premier Soccer League.

The Glamour Boys finished in an embarrassing 10th position last season which called for massive changes both in the technical bench and playing unit. So far, the Nasreddine Nabi-led outfit have signed Fiacre Ntwari, Bongani Sam, Rushwin Dortley, Gaston Sirino, Inasio Miguel, Njabulo Blom, and Bradley Cross.

With the new campaign set to start on Saturday, September 2023, have a look at how the Glamour Boys might line up for their league fixture against Marumo Gallants.

Goalkeeper: Fiacre Ntwari

The Rwanda international was solid for former club TS Galaxy. He played 24 games for the Rockets across all competitions and managed to keep 9 clean sheets. Interestingly, eight of those were in the league where he made 15 appearances.

Ntwari is expected to replace Bruce Bvuma who finished the season as the team's first choice.

Right-back: Reeve Frosler

The 26-year-old has been consistent for the Glamour Boys and delivers equally both defensively and in attack.

He missed nine league games last season partly due to injuries, but when fit, he was always considered.

Left-Back: Bradley Cross

Despite the signing of Bongani Sam, the push for Cross' signing by coach Nasreddine Midfielder means he was not convinced with the available options.

Having consistently delivered for Golden Arrows, the 24-year-old has been rewarded with a platform to prove his worth and quality.

Centre-back: Inasio Miguel

The signing of experienced bulky Angola international was a simple message to Given Msimango that he would not be the first choice. Miguel is an established player who has played both in Europe and Angola.

He helped Petro Atletico win a treble last season and featured prominently in the Caf Champions League, African Football League, and the Afcon.

Centre-Back: Rushwin Dortley

At just 22, Dortley has the world under his feet. The versatile defender played 36 games across all competitions for Cape Town Spurs. He was also part of the Bafana Bafana team that played in the 2024 Cosafa Cup.

Edmilson Dove has not been consistent in recent months which is definitely good news for Dortley.

Defensive Midfielder: Njabulo Blom

The prodigal son returned home a couple of days ago to strengthen the Amakhosi squad. While the fans are happy to see the 24-year-old back at Naturena, it might not be good news to Yusuf Maart who has been inconsistent.

Despite being the captain, he might struggle to start matches.

Central Midfielder: Edson Castillo

The South American played 27 league games for Amakhosi last season and managed to score three goals and provide an assist. What makes him an outstanding figure is his never-die attitude even when the odds are against him. With Blom playing alongside him, expect an even better performance from the 30-year-old.

Attacking Midfielder: Gaston Sirino

The former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder is the most decorated player in the Amakhosi squad.

His winning mentality and experience will play a huge role in pushing the players around him to up their game.

Left Wing: Pule Mmodi

Mmodi was one of the players who played almost all the league matches for the Glamour Boys last season.

He is always unpredictable and raring to go and has reportedly impressed Nabi and his technical team. He will, however, need to polish his finishing.

Right Wing: Ashley du Preez

Despite his injuries, Du Preez was Amakhosi's danger man last season. He was unlucky to end the season with four goals and two assists partly due to lack of service from his teammates which saw him drop deeper for the ball.

Forward: Ranga Chivaviro

The 31-year-old came to Naturena, full of promise after his achievements with Marumo Gallants. Four goals were not what was expected from someone who had scored 17 goals in 30 matches across all competitions. Yes, Amakhosi are in the market for another striker, but if they fail, Chivaviro will have a chance to prove his critics wrong.
