‘It’s insane what’s happening to Sundowns’: Cardoso’s complaint to PSL

Published on by

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso has reiterated his discontent with the Premier Soccer League (PSL) regarding his team's congested fixture schedule, even after their commanding 4-2 victory over Sekhukhune United.

This win, Sundowns' 17th in 19 league matches, extended their lead to 15 points at the top of the table. They lost the other two matches.

Despite this dominant performance, Cardoso remained frustrated by the relentless pace of their schedule.

February alone saw Sundowns play eight matches, averaging a game approximately every three days. This demanding schedule was the source of Cardoso's post-match frustration.

CARDOSO UNHAPPY WITH SUNDOWNS’ CONGESTED FIXTURE SCHEDULE

“I can only repeat it, it’s absolutely insane what’s happening to Sundowns,” he told SuperSport TV  as quoted by iDiski Times.

“The schedule is insane, it’s not normal. It doesn’t respect the human being and I think it should be fought and well-considered because I don’t know how it’s possible.

“But we keep alive, we struggle and we continue pushing forward for sure.”

In their next match, Masandawana welcome Kaizer Chiefs in a league match on Saturday, 1 March at Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium at 3:30.
