Kaizer Chiefs Marketing and Commercial Director Jessica Motaung has shared how the club’s chairman Kaizer Motaung was left delighted after they won the Nedbank Cup.
Chiefs ended their 10-year trophy drought when they beat Orlando Pirates 2-1 in the final last Saturday, bringing a smile back not just on the faces of their fans, but also on their chairman.
Jessica Motaung says the Chiefs founder and chairman was so impressed by the cup win that he could not stop smiling.

“When I spoke to him on the phone, I was saying even this morning I could feel and hear his smile through the phone,” Jessica said on Marawa Sports Worldwide as quoted by iDiski Times.
How did Kaizer Motaung react to Nedbank Cup win?
“Honestly, I could feel it. I could see his face because he was just so happy. He’s saying well done to us you know congratulations to us. He was just so happy.
“He said he started the morning so well, he was so calm he spent the whole day at home. He just had a very good feeling about it and I think that what it is all of us had that feeling.
“What it showed me is that collective consciousness, the oneness and it reminded me of us when we hosted the World Cup as South Africans. When we as a people just have the same energy, have a common goal you can achieve so much.’
Chiefs chairman lauded for his rich legacy
Chiefs players and technical bench had promised to do whatever they could to win the cup for their chairman and Jessica is thrilled that they delivered.
“I was also saying that I know that God didn’t get that many prayers as he did for this game. I mean everybody really prayed that this would go well and the chairman was so elated. I mean he was so happy and really well deserved,” she added.

“He’s worked so hard, created a great brand, given many of us a great platform and he really deserved to have this.”
Kaizer Motaung, who celebrated his 80th birthday last year, has taken a back seat when it comes to the daily running of the club but still follows proceedings for the team he founded on January 7, 1970.
