Kaizer Chiefs begin talks with SuperSport over highly-rated midfielder

Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly in advanced stages with SuperSport United over the transfer of midfielder Siphesihle Ndlovu to the Glamour Boys.

Chiefs have been busy in the market with the likes of ex-Orlando Pirates full-backs Paseka Mako, Thabiso Monyane and English-based South African Ethan Chislett reported to have signed but more are on the way.

Now it appears Ndlovu will likely be the next one at Naturena as SABC reports that SuperSport and Chiefs are close to agreeing a deal for the highly-rated former Orlando Pirate midfielder.

Ndlovu joined SuperSport, initially on loan from Orlando Pirates three years ago, and after impressing he made the move permanent.

Having survived PSL relegation, SuperSport took their one-year option to extend his deal and it appears to have been a great decision as they will not lose one of their key players for free with Chiefs set to pay a transfer fee.

Ndlovu played 30 games across all competitions for SuperSport last season, scoring two goals while providing as many assists.

Amakhosi keen to add competition in midfield

Kaizer Chiefs

The 28-year-old will beef up central midfield at Chiefs with the club looking to add more quality to coach Nasreddine Nabi’s squad ahead of next season after the departure of Njabulo Blom, who returned to his parent club, and the release of Mduduzi Mdantsane.

Question marks also remain over the future of George Matlou, who is out of contract this month, while captain Yusuf Maart has reportedly agreed fresh terms to extend his stay.

Chiefs want Ndlovu in before they depart for their pre-season tour of the Netherlands where they are set to stay for two weeks from July 4-19.
