Kaizer Chiefs Transfer News: Amakhosi have landed ‘Paul Pogba’

Kaizer Chiefs have made three signings so far in a bid to have a strong squad to challenge for the 2026/27 Premier Soccer League crown.

The first arrival was Thabo Moloisane, who came in as a free agent following the expiry of his contract with Stellenbosch. He was followed by another free agent, goalkeeper Renaldo Leaner, who had made an impression while serving Sekhukhune United.

A statement signing came on Tuesday as the Glamour Boys confirmed the signing of 27-year-old Tanzania international Adolf Mtasingwa Bitegeko from Azam FC. Bitegeko has massive experience having enjoyed spells in Iceland, Norway and Finland.

The midfielder is seemingly coming to replace Thabo Cele, who has been tipped to leave the Soweto giants. With Sibongiseni Mthethwa also aging, it is understandable why the decision was made by the management.

Chiefs signed Pogba!

Former Tanzania coach Adem Amrouche has now lauded the Amakhosi recruit, explaining why he is more like French midfielder Paul Pogba.

“He has good height, plays with simplicity and doesn’t complicate his life on the pitch. He can be even better if he finds an environment where he’s trusted and managed well,” Amrouche said as quoted by FARPost.

“He’s like Pogba. Adolf has a nice passing range. He knows how to vary the game with long and short passes. I brought him into the national team when he didn’t have a club. He’s very humble and has so much potential to do a lot more than he has already.”

“He’s a typical defensive midfielder who sits in front of the defence and protects the back four well. I think he’ll fit in very well at Kaizer Chiefs. He needs to adjust because South African football is quicker, but his passing is very good,” Zimbabwe international Prince Dube added.

It is interesting to see who else will be joining Chiefs ahead of the forthcoming campaign.
