Leaked: The massive management changes Kaizer Chiefs are making ahead of the new season

Kaizer Chiefs have been struggling on the pitch for more than a decade, failing to deliver despite the financial muscle at their disposal.

As a matter of fact, their Nedbank Cup triumph last season remains their only crown in a decade. In the ongoing campaign, they failed to deliver even after adding 11 players to their squad at the start of the season.

Following the firing of Nasreddine Nabi just six Premier Soccer League games into the campaign, the Glamour Boys have been under co-coaches Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef.

In a bid to have an effective management, the Soweto giants have reportedly made some big changes that will be fully functional after the conclusion of the 2026/27 season.

According to Kick Off, “the club has Kaizer Motaung as the executive chairman and amongst seven directors, who include Mike Nkuna, Ari Lambropoulos, Jessica Motaung, Hamid Muhammad, Moses Mashishi, and Bheki Shongwe.

“Now, the latest developments coming from the Soweto giants indicate that there will be an incoming CEO to head the club’s operations. That position will be taken by Shongwe. Shongwe – who has a firm fist in his leadership – was previously the managing director.

“The changes are due to come into effect in the next couple of weeks ahead of the off-season as the club begins preparing for the 2026/27 campaign,” they reported.

It is not yet clear whether Kaze and Ben Youssef will continue as the club’s co-coaches at the beginning of the 2026/27 season.
