Kaizer Chiefs new signing Glody Lilepo now has two goals in three PSL appearances after being awarded Amakhosi’s second goal during their 2-2 draw with AmaZulu last week.
The strike was initially awarded as an own goal from AmaZulu goalkeeper Richard Ofori who gifted Chiefs a goal just past the hour mark.
Lilepo’s header from the back post bounced and it looked like an easy catch for Ofori but the former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper made a mess of it, the ball dropping past the line, as the referee blew for the goal.
Lilepo benefits from referee’s confusion
It was initially recorded as an own goal but it appears the match official gave it to Lilepo and without a review committee in the PSL, the Congolese winger is now the beneficiary.
“Kaizer Chiefs’ second goal against AmaZulu FC has been credited to Makabi Lilepo,” Chiefs announced on Tuesday.
Lilepo was a handful for AmaZulu in the game as he created numerous chances and was at the end of all their great moves.
How did the Congolese perform?

His running inside the channels and crosses caused Usuthu plenty of problems and Chiefs should have won the game had they taken most of their chances.
That means Lilepo has now scored two goals in three games, having opened his account against Stellenbosch last Friday when Chiefs won 1-0.
Chiefs play Chippa United in the Round of 16 of the Nedbank Cup on Saturday February 15 and Nasreddine Nabi will hope that Lilepo maintains his great start as this is their only chance for silverware this season.
