Kaizer Chiefs have departed for Spain for a crucial pre-season training camp under newly-appointed head coach Fernando da Cruz.
The Soweto giants are set to hold a nine-day camp in Murcia from 10 to 19 July, giving Da Cruz his first extended opportunity to work with the squad ahead of the 2026/27 season. bet
Amakhosi are scheduled to face Saudi Pro League side Al Kholood at the Pinatar Arena Football Centre on 15 July, before taking on Spanish outfit Elche CF on 18 July. The full pre-season schedule also includes a clash with Scottish giants Rangers FC in Marbella on 12 July, making it a demanding run of fixtures across the camp.

Midfielder Thabo Cele appears increasingly unlikely to have been part of the travelling party heading to Spain, with sources close to the situation indicating he was not fully involved in preparations ahead of the squad’s scheduled departure.
“He wasn’t fully involved with what was happening around the team before the trip. From what we’ve seen, it doesn’t look like he’ll be travelling with the squad,” a source told Soccer Laduma.
Reports suggest the 29-year-old midfielder is not part of Da Cruz’s plans for the upcoming season and is already in talks with other clubs over a possible move.

Gaston Sirino is reportedly on his way out of Kaizer Chiefs after contract talks between his representatives and the club stalled.
According to SABC, Chiefs were keen to extend the deal of the 35-year-old, whose contract expired in June, but have not reached an agreement over revised terms, leaving a parting of ways as the potential solution.
Sirino is reported not to have been part of new coach Fernando da Cruz’s squad that has been training before leaving for Spain pre-season on Thursday and Chiefs have not returned with another offer which effectively seals his fate at the club.
