The latest Kaizer Chiefs news in the last 24 hours, including Amakhosi told how Tshagofatso Mabasa will benefit them, Thabo Cele’s decision made, Thabo Moloisane on the Glamour Boys and more.
Why Chiefs need Mabasa
“The way the club is playing they need a sharp striker, someone dynamic, someone who understands the basics of football. Someone who can receive the ball and create space for himself,” ex-Amakhosi winger Junior Khanye stated.
“The guy is unfortunate it’s a pity that he left at Pirates when they were winning every game. If he had left and Pirates started losing, people would be talking about him.

“But he went to Stellenbosch and still showed who he is, breaking Sundowns supporters’ hearts, scoring week in and week out there. So I’d bring in Mabasa,” he concluded.
Cele-decision made?
Thabo Cele’s future at Kaizer Chiefs appears increasingly uncertain after the midfielder was left behind from the club’s pre-season training camp in Spain, with Siya sources indicating he has been given permission to explore opportunities elsewhere.
While the Amakhosi squad continues preparations for the new campaign in Europe, Cele has remained in South Africa, a notable omission given his status as one of the club’s senior midfielders.
“The player’s representatives have been informed that they are free to pursue alternative opportunities, with Chiefs willing to facilitate a move should a suitable offer materialise,” Soccer Laduma reported.
“The club has given the player’s camp the green light to look at opportunities elsewhere. If the right deal comes along, they won’t stand in his way.
“The development comes despite Cele still having approximately two and a half years remaining on his contract with the Soweto giants.

“The midfielder only arrived at Chiefs in January last year after returning to South African football following a lengthy spell in Europe, where he featured in Portugal, Poland and Russia,” they concluded.
Moloisane opens up on settling at Chiefs
New Kaizer Chiefs signing Thabo Moloisane has opened up on the reception he’s received from the Khosi Nation since joining the club from Stellenbosch FC.
Amakhosi newbie Thabo Moloisane has revealed the overwhelming welcome he has received from the Amakhosi faithful since completing his dream move to Naturena, admitting the response from supporters has only strengthened his desire to deliver on the pitch.
The Glamour Boys are currently in Spain putting the finishing touches to their preparations for the 2026/27 season, with Moloisane among the new arrivals looking to make an immediate impact under the club’s new-look squad.
Chiefs confirmed the signing of the 27-year-old centre-back on 18 June after he joined on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract with Stellenbosch FC.
“I received a lot of DMs and my social media profile has grown tremendously since I joined. It gives me the feeling that I am at the place where people expected me to come. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, and now I am determined to show them what I am about and produce on the field of play,” said Moloisane.
“I would love them to come out and support us in numbers. We are going to be very ambitious this season in all competitions we are in, so I encourage them to be part of our journey as our 12th man, and we will do everything we can to give them something to celebrate.

“I look forward to seeing them at the Toyota Cup when we take on Scottland FC in Rustenburg on Sunday, 26 July.”
