Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Brandon Petersen has responded to talks of his club having a say in the title race.

Mamelodi Sundowns will play Chiefs next Wednesday and if they drop points, it could allow Orlando Pirates to close in, but Petersen is not interested in helping anyone’s chances but rather Amakhosi’s own continental aspirations.

“I think the main focus is on ourselves, where we can improve, where we can just make sure that we stay consistent and make sure we get maximum points out of the next fixtures that we have to play. So, it’s not that much of having a say in who wins the league,” he told iDiski Times.

“It’s for us to just try and collect maximum points and make sure that we finish the season strong and secure the continental football for next season.”

Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Bernard Parker failed to write a new chapter of history in the Nedbank Cup following TS Galaxy’s loss to Durban City in the final on Saturday.

Durban City came from behind to secure a 2-1 win and lift the trophy, denying Parker a chance to become the first man to win it as a player and as a head coach in its current format.

Ex-Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has reportedly made himself available for the coaching job at Moroccan side Wyadad Athletic Club.

Wydad sacked coach Patrice Carteron early this week after just five games in charge, and are in the market for a new tactician, a third one this season.

According to Moroccan outlet One One, Nabi has offered his services for the club but only from next season as he looks for a return to football since leaving Chiefs in September 2025.
