Sacked Kaizer Chiefs coach lands new job

Goalkeeper coach Ilyes Mzoughi, who was released by Kaizer Chiefs this week, has landed a new role just days after parting ways with the Glamour Boys.

Mzoughi, who is credited with the improved form of goalkeeper Brandon Petersen, is set to work as part of the technical team of the Burkina Faso national team in their upcoming friendlies, according to FARPost.

Burkina Faso will face Russia and Belarus on June 5 and 9, giving Mzoughi a chance to impress and perhaps land a permanent role.

Defender’s future in doubt after relegation

Kaizer Chiefs defender Xolani Cossa is at crossroads after the end of his loan spell in Botswana where he played for the now relegated Black Lions.

According to Soccer Laduma, the defender is set to return to Naturena but a decision is yet to be made over his future as he does not seem to be in the club’s plans.

“At the moment there is no decision on his future yet. It’s believed he won’t be returning to Black Lions because they were relegated and it would no longer serve Chiefs’ player development plans,” a source told the outlet.

Bheki Shongwe: New Chiefs’ CEO’s role revealed

Kaizer Chiefs legend William Shongwe has explained what his compatriot Bheki Shongwe, who was recently appointed the club’s Group Chief Executive Officer, will be responsible for at Naturena.

“From what I have gathered from Kaizer Motaung Jr, it appears he’s been brought in to elevate the team to new levels of success. I don’t believe he’s been appointed to identify talent or sign players for Chiefs; I think his role is positioned above that level of involvement,” he told KickOff.
