Brandon Petersen: When will Chiefs skipper return?

Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Khalil Ban Youssef has provided an update on the situation of goalkeeper Brandon Petersen, who has been missing since the final week of February.
Chiefs have played the last five games without Petersen, who had been impressive before his injury, as he kept 11 clean sheets in 16 games, but hopes of a return in the early days of April seem farfetched, according to Ben Youssef.
“Petersen, he was with the physio,” said the coach as quoted by FARPost. “And we have to say thank you to the medical staff for preparing him. And last week he was with the coaches, he’s working, and I think soon he’ll be back with the team,” he added, without giving clear timelines.
Kaizer Chiefs to have say in title race

Kaizer Chiefs will have a major say in the destiny of the PSL title as they still have matches against both Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates.
Sundowns and Pirates are locked in a tight title race, with the Brazilians leading with 56 points and the Buccaneers on 54. With Pirates hosting Chiefs on April 26 and then Sundowns welcoming Amakhosi on May 6, the Glamour Boys can help the cause of either side if they take points off any of the two teams.
Goalkeeping threatening to derail Chiefs
Kaizer Chiefs have built up a good momentum following their run of three straight games, which has lifted them to third place and still with two games in hand over their closest challengers.
However, the shaky performances of goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma are raising concerns as they do not look rock solid at the back as they were with Brandon Petersen in goal.
Petersen had made it hard to breach Chiefs with 11 clean sheets in 16 games but Bvuma has managed just two in five games and made a massive mistake in their 3-1 win over Orbit College on Monday, raising questions over whether he can help them in their quest for a top three finish.

Kaizer Chiefs may be 15 points behind second-placed Orlando Pirates but Wandile Duba still feels they can catch them and even go ahead.
Chiefs are in third place on 39 points from 21 matches while Pirates have 54, having played two more, but young striker Duba still thinks a top two finish is possible for the Glamour Boys.
“Our plan is finishing in the top two right now. We just have to win all remaining matches. If we can do that, we can get number two or three,” Duba told SuperSport TV as per GOAL.
