“The midfield is further bolstered by the signing of Gape Moralo (26) from Siwelele FC, while the club has also secured the services of Faveur Kouassi (24), an Ivorian goalkeeper who joins from Malian outfit Djobila AC to add depth and competition between the posts.
“Completing AmaZulu FC’s recruitment drive is highly rated Kenyan striker Moses Shumah (23), who joins the club following a prolific spell with Zambian Premier League champions Power Dynamos. Shumah arrives in Durban on the back of an outstanding 2025/26 campaign, having found the back of the net 23 times in all competitions.”
McCarthy makes his debut
Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Aden McCarthy made his debut off the bench in Sabah FK’s 2-0 win over TNS in their UEFA Champions League qualifier.
Morris finds new home
Tashreeq Morris hasn’t had to wait long for a new home. Just days after departing Kaizer Chiefs, the Cape Town-born striker is believed to be set to sign for Durban City, with club chairman Farouk Kadodia personally confirming the deal.
“Yeah, we will sign him,” Kadodia told Soccer Laduma, stopping short of elaborating on contract specifics.
“I can’t talk all that after the finish here,” he added.
The 26-year-old arrives with Premiership pedigree, having previously turned out for Sekhukhune United and SuperSport United before his brief stint at Chiefs. Despite limited game time at Amakhosi – just four appearances last season – Morris made his mark, netting once to show he still has plenty to offer at the top level.

Kaizer Chiefs confirmed his exit earlier this month, framing it as an amicable split that gives the striker the freedom to choose his next destination.
What is expected of Leaner
New Kaizer Chiefs signing, goalkeeper Renaldo Leaner has joined the list of shot-stoppers carrying hopes of restoring the club’s prestige in goal and his background would give him a boost.
