Kaizer Chiefs are working hard to ensure they have a competitive squad for the 2026/27 Premier Soccer League campaign.
The Glamour Boys have so far confirmed the arrival of Thabo Moloisane who came in as a free agent following the expiry of his contract with Stellenbosch. The South Africa international is seen as a direct replacement of Aden McCarthy who was sold to Azerbaijan’s top-tier outfit Sabah.

Amakhosi have further opted against releasing defender Happy Mashiane as well as midfielder George Matlou, who has struggled to make an impact consistently owing to injuries, the same as the former.
On Friday, the Soweto giants announced the exit of experienced striker Tashreeq Morris, who joined the team from a now-defunct SuperSport United in January 2025 to add more firepower to the attacking department.
Chiefs confirm the exit of Morris
“Following constructive discussions between the Club and the player, Kaizer Chiefs and Tashreeq Morris have mutually agreed to terminate their contract,” the club stated.
“This amicable decision grants Morris the opportunity to pursue the next chapter of his career and join a team of his choice. We wish Tashreeq success in his future endeavours,” Amakhosi concluded.
The 32-year-old did not have a good campaign at Chiefs where he managed just 14 appearances across all competitions. His only goal for the Soweto giants came last season in the 2-0 win over Sekhukhune United.

New coach Fernando Da Cruz will most probably rely on Flavio da Silva, Etiosa Ighodaro – who struggled for fitness last season, and Khanyisa Mayo who is set to stay. Wandile Duba is another option in the striking position.
Morris has been heavily linked with a move to Durban City, where he will be reunited with coach Khalil Ben Youssef.
