Kaizer Chiefs Transfer News: Amakhosi beat Sundowns and Pirates to international star

Kaizer Chiefs have started re-shaping for the 2026/27 with a massive signing who has international experience.

Accrording to SABC Sport, “have secured the signing of defender Thabo Moloisane as a free agent.

“Chiefs moved swiftly to secure the player’s signature and are understood to have beaten Sekhukhune United in the race to sign him. 

“However, the Soweto giants are only expected to officially announce the deal once the new registration window opens on July 1,”

“Moloisane made 33 appearances in all competitions this past season, including 21 in the Betway Premiership, despite missing matches through suspension and minor injuries. One of his biggest strengths is his durability, with the defender rarely sidelined for extended periods,” the national broadcaster further reported.

Big win for Chiefs!

The Bafana Bafana international was also linked with a move to newly crowned Premier Soccer League champions Orlando Pirates, as well as the CAF Champions League winners Mamelodi Sundowns.

The 27-year-old who refused to extend his deal with Stellenbosch will now have to give his best to start ahead of competitors Given Msimango, Inacio Miguel, Rushwin Dortley, Zitha Kwinika, and Aden McCarthy.

Many changes are expected at the Soweto giants, especially after the exit of the technical team that was led by co-coaches Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef, who replaced Nasreddine Nabi early in the concluded campaign.

Next season, Amakhosi will be competing for the MTN8, Nedbank Cup, Carling Knockout, the CAF Confederation Cup, and definitely the Premier Soccer League, where they will be aiming at finishing higher after managing to seal a top-three slot in the recently concluded edition.
