Kaizer Chiefs to face PSL club in newly formed tournament

Kaizer Chiefs are set to participate in the newly launched Cultural Urban Festival Africa (Cufa) Cup 2024 against Marumo Gallants during the FIFA international break.

The fixture is scheduled for 13 October at the Toyota Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein.

This will be an opportunity for Amakhosi coach Nasreddine Nabi to give players some game time and prepare them for the resumption of club football following a 20-day break.

Chiefs winger Tebogo Potsane conveyed his delight for taking part in the one-day match, which he feels, draws people from diverse backgrounds across South Africa and its neighboring countries.

WHAT TEBOGO POTSANE SAID ABOUT TAKING PART IN THE TOURNAMENT 

“As someone from Bloemfontein, I am honoured to be back home to attend the launch of Cufa Cup,” said Potsane as per Kaizer Chiefs website.

“We are really looking forward to coming back to Bloemfontein for a third time in 10 weeks.

“We played in front of capacity crowds against Young Africans on 28 July in the Toyota Cup and faced Marumo Gallants in the Betway Premiership on 14 September, and supporters did not disappoint again when they filled up the Toyota stadium once more. 

“We know people of Mangaung love football, and we look forward to another sold-out crowd when we return on 13 October.”

“Tickets for the Cufa Cup between Marumo Gallants and the Glamour Boys are on sale at TicketPro outlets, including Spar supermarkets, Boxer and various filling stations at R75 for open stands and R95 for the grandstand,” Chiefs confirmed via a statement.

“The match will kick off at 15:00 at the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein on Sunday, 13 October.”
