Kaizer Chiefs Transfer News: Proven goal scorer on his way out!

Published on by

Kaizer Chiefs are busy shaping up for the new season, hoping to challenge defending Premier Soccer League champions Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns for the crown.

Currently, the Soweto giants are in Europe preparing for the new season under coach Fernando Da Cruz, who took over from Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef. Despite landing Thabo Moloisane and Renaldo Leaner, Amakhosi sold Aden McCarthy and parted ways with Gaston Sirino, George Matlou, Happy Mashiane, and Tashreeq Morris.

It is not clear whether Thabo Cele will also be let go since he has been heavily linked with an exit as well. Rumours have it that he has been deemed surplus to requirements at the Naturena Village.

Goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari is another star who is expected to leave, albeit on loan. Kruger United are expected to confirm him for the 2026/27 campaign.

The Democratic Republic of Congo international Glody Lilepo is another massive exit expected in the next couple of days.

“Kaizer are in the final stages of concluding Glody Makabi Lilepo’s transfer to Libyan giants Al Ahly Benghazi, with all parties understood to be aligned on the move,” FARPost reported.

“The clubs are putting the final touches on the agreement, while personal terms between the DR Congo forward and Al Ahly Benghazi have already been settled.

“This publication also understands there is confidence on both sides that the deal will be completed imminently, with only the remaining administrative and contractual processes to be concluded,” they added.

The 29-year-old has managed 15 goals and five assists in the 56 matches he has so far played for the club. Last season, he found the back of the net nine times – just one less than Flavio Silva, and provided four assists.
